Benson wins Premeir Boyne Machine Super Late race at Kalamazoo Klash

Johnny Benson Jr. won the Premier Boyne Machine Super Late Model event during the Kalamazoo Klash on August 17.  Benson was driving the Racing Awareness sponsored #21 template body car, beating other racing notables including Ross Kenseth, Alec Carll and Tom Thomas.  Benson also set fast time at 12.766.

Baker powered Outlaws also put on a great show in the 150 lap Outlaw event at the Klash, one of the highlight events in Michigan circle track racing, leading the field in qualifying 1st, 2nd and 3rd.  Leading the 42 car all-star line-up was Terry Senneker with a lap of 12.296 seconds at over 109 mph.  Tom Thomas qualified right behind Senneker with Trent Hellinga rounding out the top three.  At the 100 lap point, Baker engines took the first 5 spots, but lost ground to the competitive field when they hit the track for the last 50 laps.  Senneker went on to finish 6th, followed by Tom Thomas.  Sennekers teammate Steve Needles finished second.
