Baker Engineering proudly congratulates Terry Senneker for winning the Late Model Series point championship, Dave Lake for taking the Modifieds Track Championship, and young Brandon Hermiller for clinching the title in the Pro Stock division at Berlin Raceway. The champions each took the checkered flag in their respective feature races on Saturday, September 17, to give them enough points to win the points race. Congratulations to these great drivers, their crews and car owners!
Congratulations to Rich Neiser for clinching two Track Championships in the same season -- at Winston Motor Speedway and Thunderbird Raceway! What a fantastic way to cap off a great season.
Terry Senneker made it a Three-peat at Columbus Motor Speedway on Sunday, September 25, winning the always competitive Outlaw Late Model Main Event XXIV. Senneker also won in 2007 and 2009. Teammate Steve Needles followed in second place. Needles won the event in 2008 and 2010, making it five in a row for Team Gentry. Congratulations to Terry, Steve and the entire Gentry crew. What a show!!!!!
Johnny VanDoorn found victory lane at the CRA Super Series race at Winchester on September 5! Congratulations to the two-time Series Champion for driving his way back to the Winners Circle. Labor Day weekend winners also include Dave Lake winning the Modified event at Berlin Raceway.
Johnny Benson Jr. won the Premier Boyne Machine Super Late Model event during the Kalamazoo Klash on August 17. Benson was driving the Racing Awareness sponsored #21 template body car, beating other racing notables including Ross Kenseth, Alec Carll and Tom Thomas. Benson also set fast time at 12.766.
Baker powered Outlaws also put on a great show in the 150 lap Outlaw event at the Klash, one of the highlight events in Michigan circle track racing, leading the field in qualifying 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Leading the 42 car all-star line-up was Terry Senneker with a lap of 12.296 seconds at over 109 mph. Tom Thomas qualified right behind Senneker with Trent Hellinga rounding out the top three. At the 100 lap point, Baker engines took the first 5 spots, but lost ground to the competitive field when they hit the track for the last 50 laps. Senneker went on to finish 6th, followed by Tom Thomas. Sennekers teammate Steve Needles finished second.
Monte Tolan posted his first ever late model win on August 5 winning "The Chet" at Berlin Raceway. The annual 100 lap race honors the original track owner Chet Mysliwiec and draws top outlaw late model cars and drivers. Brandon Hermiller also won the Pro Stock race at the same event, his seventh of the season!
Johnny Vandoorn won the 100-lap Outlaw Super Late Model race at Dixie Motor Speedway. Great to see Johnny back in the winners circle!
Brian Campbell drove the #21 car into the Winners Circle of the 100 lap Premier Boyne Machine Super Late Model race at Berlin Raceway on July 16, topping a full field of great competitors in this new series. On this special night, $1 from every ticket sold was donated to the Racing Awareness team, in support of the Helen DeVos Children's Hospital.
Congratulations to Terry VanHaitsma who took his first checkered flag of the season at Berlin Raceway on July 2. VanHaitsma led three Baker powered late models to the top three spots on the star-spangled July night, with Steve Needles taking second, andTerry Senneker in third.
Rich Neiser continues to dominate the Dirt Tracks with a win a Thunderbird on July 9 and again on August 5. Richie has already posted several wins at his home track, Winston Speedway this season. Keep it up!
Congratulations to Jesse Baker who posted his first ever Late Model win! The Cherry Raceway driver won the Main Event race on May 27. Welcome to the Winners Circle Jesse!
