For the second consecutive year, Tom Thomas has been crowned the NASCAR Whelen All-American Michigan State Champion in Division 1. Thomas accumulated points at both Kalamazoo Speedway and Berlin Raceway throughout the season to earn this award. State Champions are recognized at a NASCAR Home Tracks banquet at the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlott, NC. Along with prize money and trophies, winners also receive a new fire suit with Michigan State Champion embroidered, racing shoes and other prizes."It's really cool and a great honor. And Baker Engineering has helped make this possible," commented Thomas. NASCAR keeps track of the top 500 in National points as well and this year Thomas ranked 54th in the Nation.
