DEVELOPMENT ENGINE DEMO

BEI’s proprietary 24 cu.in. Opposed-Piston Turbo Diesel Engine/APU has successfully demonstrated cold start, low idle, high idle and incremental loads nearing the target power output.  See it run at http://youtu.be/WJvEYzIgGYI. With a target of 20kW output, this technology has widespread potential due to its small size, flexible footprint, power-to-weight ratio, low part count, and fuel efficiency.  The single cylinder engine also provides a low compression ratio with low heat rejection, variable boost, high speed, good cold starting and multi-fuel capabilities.  The Opposed-Piston Turbo Diesel Engine is based on traditional design coupled with advanced engine health management strategies.  Operating on the two-stroke cycle, the inwardly-opposed-piston engine offers reliability and efficiency of a breathe-easy piston port design.

NOW A CERTIFIED S.E.A.L. ENGINE RE-BUILDER!

Racers in Michigan and surrounding states now have a new resource for crate engine re-building.  Baker Engineering has been granted the official seal of approval by the Sealed Engine Alliance Leaders (S.E.A.L.).  With this certification, BEI is now authorized to re-build crate engines used in circle track racing. The S.E.A.L. program ensures that engines are re-built to the original crate engine specifications.  Specific engine seals are required to provide this assurance.  Only approved engine builders can purchase the special seals.
