The new year brings new capabilities and a facility restructure to BEI. Production part manufacturing and the Engine Machine Shop now each have dedicated areas within the facility.   All production-oriented equipment has been moved to a new Production Manufacturing area. In addition to dual spindle, high speed, 5-axis turning and milling with live tooling, BEI also houses several other CNC milling stations, lathe, honing equipment and mig/tig welding. The production facility is set up to accommodate prototype and short-run precision parts requiring tight tolerances.   A new Quality Lab has also been added. The separate Engine Machine Shop has also been reorganized, housing all the engine related equipment within a dedicated area. Recent ISO 9001:2008 Certification reinforces BEI’s commitment to quality work throughout the facility.

Baker Engineering is officially ISO 9001:2008 Certified!  In support of our expanded manufacturing capabilities, the BEI crew has been working hard at documenting our internal processes and systems to meet or exceed the published standards of the International Standards Organization (ISO).  The first audits took place in December, and we passed with flying colors.  While our existing customers rely on BEI for quality work, now new customers can share the same level of confidence right from the start.  For details aobut BEI's Manufacturing capabilities, click the Manufacturing/Prototyping tab.

 See the RacingAwareness.com Modified racecar at the Grand Rapids Auto Show January 26-29.  Baker Engineering is a proud sponsor of the #97 team, whose mission is to raise funds for the Helen DeVos Childrens Hospital Foundation, and to increase awareness of both RacingAwareness.com and the Foundation.  The team donated $35,000 to the Foundation in 2011.  Dave Lake drove the #97 Modified to a Points Championship at Berlin Raceway in 2011.

The BEI crew has just returned from exhibiting at the industry's largest trade only events, the International Motorsports Inudustry Show (IMIS) in Indianapolis and the Performance Racing Industry Show in Orlando.  Thousands of attendees at each show had the opportunity to talk about Baker Engineered Racing Engines and Pro/Cam products. Customers raved about the success they have experienced with Pro/Cam mechanical fuel pumps and oiling systems.  Thanks for your terrific feedback, and to all who stopped by the booth!
